Project ASTRO San Diego

Astronomers and Teachers in Partnership for Learning

Project ASTRO is a national program of the Astronomical Society of the Pacific, to improve science education in grades 3-10, by creating partnerships between scientists and the schools in their communities. Through multiple classroom visits and hands-on, inquiry-based astronomy and space-themed activities, teacher and students get to know their own "classroom scientist" as a resource and a mentor. The San Diego site began operations in 2001.
