The Mount Laguna Observatory 16-inch Telescope Building

(To be upgraded with ULTRA 40-inch Telescope)

The building containing the 16-inch telescope sits on the ridge of Mount Laguna. The ridge runs north-south, and provides for a smooth laminar flow of air from the Pacific Ocean to the west over the summit. This building can be seen briefly a few miles to the west on Interstate Highway 8 when approaching the Pine Creek Bridge. The building has three levels: a small instrument and computer room, a ready area, and the observing deck with telescope and controls.
